About

Preflight Clearance was created to address structural challenges in modern distribution systems, where the moment of release significantly influences downstream outcomes. Its foundation comes from direct experience at the intersection of digital measurement, markets, and large-scale digital exposure.

The platform was developed by James Geddes, a former board member of NetRatings—the #1 online audience measurement company that defined how digital behavior is quantified and was later acquired by Nielsen. He was also the co-founder and Senior Managing Director of a Silicon Valley venture capital firm.

Over his seven-year tenure, Geddes and his team managed investments across 75 portfolio companies, including 16 NASDAQ IPOs and 20 M&A transactions. That experience revealed a persistent structural gap: measurement occurs after exposure, while meaningful risk emerges at the point of release.

Today’s distribution systems—algorithms, classifiers, ranking engines, and AI platforms—assign meaning instantly. Once classification occurs, correction becomes more constrained.

Preflight Clearance intervenes before publication, restoring structured evaluation at the point where it has the highest impact—prior to full system-wide exposure.
